Adding a touch of warmth to your home

The colder months are the ideal time to add a sense of warmth and cosiness to your home, with a few carefully selected soft furnishings.

From a thick handmade rug, which can transform a cold stone or wooden floor, to a comfy throw, which can be both practical as well aesthetically pleasing, casually strewn over a sofa or a much loved chair, there are lots of small changes you can make, and you don’t have to spend a fortune either!

Our friends at IKEA have a host of products available, perfect to lift your mood as well as warm up your living space – while not pushing up your utility bills!

Here are a few of our favourites:

You can’t make a trip to IKEA without returning with a candle or two (or three, or four...) can you?? But in all seriousness, candles are a very quick and cost effective way to add an instant sense of warmth to your space. Explore IKEA’s full range here.

The quick solution to a cold room can be to install thick curtains. They can stop a draughty window from letting all of the cold air in, while adding new textures and colour to any space. View IKEA’s range of curtains here.

A well placed lamp can add a real glow to a room. Make sure you opt for decorative LED bulbs as they use less energy than incandescent bulbs! View IKEA’s range of lighting here.

You can’t beat a warm and comfy throw. From chunky knits to fleecy blankets, there are so many choices out there and what’s more, these can be easily packed away in the warmer months, and then brought back out again when the temperature drops! Take a look at IKEA’s range here.
