Newsletter #5 - April 2022

Hello! from our Project Team at BoKlok on the Lake. We hope you are enjoying the lovely spring weather.

As we continue work on site, we wanted to provide you with an update on our Fulbeck Avenue scheme.

Read on to find out more about what we have planned on site over the coming months. You can also hear a little bit more about how we have been getting out into the local community.

Timeline for the coming months

Here's what to expect on site over the coming months:

May 2022

  • Site works – we are building the foundations to our modules. Due to the high level of accuracy required, this takes longer than a standard foundation.
  • We are also currently building the main road through the site & forming a second temporary entrance to help with congestion on Fulbeck Avenue. This will allow for a much safer one-way system for vehicles on site.
  • We will complete installation of our substation and connect-up to the power grid – this will allow us to disconnect from our generators and become even more environmentally friendly.
  • Some utilities work will be carried out outside of our site. Traffic management may possibly be in place for the safety of the operatives. Again – we apologise for any inconvenience.
  • Footpath closed – the temporary diversion is still in place due to works being carried out. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.

June 2022

  • Groundworks will continue, with Blocks 1 & 2 foundations being built
  • In late June, we will receive our first delivery of modules, these will be delivered from a factory on lorries and craned into position on site.
  • Below is a picture of what this will look like.
  • We will be using a 250-ton capacity mobile crane to lift our modules into place. We expect to install around 9 per day.

Meeting the local community at Tesco!

We had the opportunity to meet some more of the local community when we took up a stand in Tesco Extra.

We were able to share with everyone a bit more about the homes we’re delivering in Worthing, as well as giving out some freebies!

Thank you to every who stopped to say hello!

Site safety assembley

The BoKlok team were also delighted to get the opportunity to visit The Laurels Primary School to run a Site Safety Assembly with the whole school.

The pupils were introduced to a range of equipment which is used on site to keep safe. Pupils were encouraged to guess the range of items. By the end of the assembly all the items had been guessed and the pupils could see how we stay safe and – very importantly – why they shouldn’t enter the site unless accompanied and wearing the necessary safety equipment.

Thank you to all the brilliant pupils for all your questions and enthusiasm!
