Government department visits our site!

We recently hosted a tour of our BoKlok on the Brook development for some civil servants from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities. The group were keen to witness ‘innovation in action’ and to see a live construction site, which uses Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).

The day commenced with a tour of the site, provided by Tim Smith, Senior Project Manager. The guests were invited to see both the show homes and some of the newly constructed apartment blocks. Following the tour, a lunch was organised at Filwood Green Business Park where Jez Sweetland, Director at the Bristol Housing Festival concluded with a presentation.

Harry O’Conor, Community Engagement Lead for BoKlok, said:

“The recent tour was a great opportunity for us to showcase how at BoKlok, we are drawing on the latest innovations to deliver sustainable, great value new homes – while never compromising on quality. The whole development was very well received. Our guests were particularly impressed by the size of the apartments and how quiet they were inside.

“Thanks to Jez from the Housing Festival for his input. The Housing Festival have been hugely supportive of BoKlok and the scheme we are delivering in Bristol. As an organisation, they are continually looking to advance the narrative around housing innovation in Bristol and beyond. The visit provided an ideal insight into all things Bristol and MMC!”
