Calming neutrals

Natural and neutral colours can create a calming environment, with soft hues, such as sage green and browns, to help achieve that sought-after sanctuary.

Adding a few natural fabric plant pots, incorporating some new neutral bedding or updating your cushion covers are all easy and relatively cost effective ways of adding calming neutral colours and natural textures to a room.

One of the biggest bonuses of decorating your home with neutral pieces is their versatility. Contrasting textures in the same shade work just as well as contrasting colours. Earthy colours and organic materials will create a chic environment whilst bringing the calming effects of the outdoors in.

Practical storage

We all know that IKEA is renowned for its practical storage solutions, helping you to make the most of your space. As part of IKEA's Natural Neutrals trend, you'll find a variety of shelving displays and cabinets crafted in natural wood, as well as wicker storage boxes to keep clutter at bay.

Autumnal hues

IKEA suggests incorporating a rich autumn colour palette from fiery reds to golden yellows. This can be easily achieved with a new rug or soft furnishings, and is reflected in IKEA's Folklore Fusion trend, which is all about playing with an array of colours, designs and shapes.

While this trend is nothing new, it's arguably been phased out of homes in recent years to make way for more minimalist, neutral design choices, but the Folklore Fusion look can be incredibly stylish and cosy and is relatively easy to achieve in your home.

Experiment with colours

Another of IKEA’s themes is Nostalgic Expression, which is all about creating a relaxing sanctuary from the world outside.

According to the global IKEA Life at Home Report, 93% of adults believe it's important to create a home that provides them with a sense of comfort.

A way of bringing Nostalgic Expression into your home is by experimenting with vintage tones, colours, and patterns to capture a timeless feel. Rich shades of green, soft greys and blues make up the main colour palette, while chunky textured fabrics that embody warmth complete the wholesome aesthetic.
